Meet the Team
Kathie Carnahan, Director
Certified Educational Planner
Kathie has helped college bound students and their families for over twelve years. She holds professional memberships with the Independent Educational Consultants Association, Higher Educational Consultants Association, National Association of College Admissions Counseling, and Southern Association of College Admissions Counseling. She presented sessions at national conferences and contributed articles in national publications. Kathie is the only Independent Educational Consultant in the New Orleans area who has earned the designation of Certified Educational Planner from The American Institute of Certified Educational Planners.

Barbara Pasalis
Certified Educational Planner
Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara is Founder of Northcoast Educational Consulting. Barbara holds professional memberships with Independent Educational Consultants Association, National Association of College Admission Counseling, and Ohio Association of College Counseling. Working together, Kathie and Barbara provide their students with increased services and expert college admissions guidance from North to South and East to West. This spring, Barb becomes a member of the Board of Trustees of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.
Carrie Lyndrup
Associate/Essay Specialist
Carrie began her career in the field of college admissions at the College of Charleston shortly after graduating from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. As Director of Freshman Admissions at the College of Charleston, Carrie's duties included making final admissions decisions for over 5,000 freshman applications and counseling prospective students and parents to provide advisement on admissions. She also earned a masters degree in Public Administration from the College of Charleston. After eight years with the College, Carrie moved with her family to Haddon Heights, New Jersey in 2007. For the past two years Carrie has worked as a part time application reader for Princeton University.
Burt Carnahan
College Counseling Certification in progress
After forty years of practicing law, Burt is currently enrolled in University of California at Irvine's program in college counseling. With years of editing legal documents, Burt is an added asset to our team, working with students through the college essay process.
